Fables Vol. 1: Legends in Exile by Bill Willingham – Fairytale Characters Reimagined as Powerful Adult Comics
Fables is a series of comic books created and written by Bill Willingham and published by Vertigo Comics, a subsidiary of DC Comics. In this series, the author reimagines folklore and fairytale characters from children’s comics as “fables” who take up completely different roles, people who secretly live among the normal human beings, in Fabletown, New York. Snow White’s sister goes missing and her apartment has blood spilled everywhere and the furniture and items there are all destroyed. There is also a sign on the wall. Snow requests “Bigby”, the Big Bad Wolf, the sheriff of the Fabletown government to investigate the case.
