Slow Time Between The Stars is a futuristic science-fiction short story involving an artificially intelligent spaceship which is designed to find another planet for a civilization like ours and to build life there. But the AI which is autonomous cuts contact with mankind, who built and launched it, to find its own way through space over hundreds of thousands of years, as it contemplates on its own.
